Paper and book artist Frank Brannon, in residence at Virginia Humanities in 2016-17 as the Robert C. Vaughan Fellow and now an educator with Northern Virginia Community College, will discuss the publications from his fellowship regarding the historical Cherokee Phoenix newspaper, published between 1828 and 1834.
His talk will include reflection on his ten years of working in western North Carolina with the Cherokee community, in support of language revitalization, and his future plans to work in consideration of Virginia immigrant communities.
