Join Virginia Humanities Fellow Karen A. Chase for a reading and book signing in Richmond.

Chase’s debut historical novel is the first in the Founding Documents series. Carrying Independence lets readers experience the Revolutionary War in an intimate way through a well-researched story filled with intrigue, danger, and divided loyalties. Come for the books, appetizers, and two signature 1776-cocktails – stay for dinner on the back patio and selfies with the “Founding Fathers”!

Karen A. Chase is an author and photographer, and a Daughter of the American Revolution with the Commonwealth Chapter in Virginia. Her first novel, Carrying Independence, is historical fiction about the signing of the Declaration of Independence. A southern upmarket women’s novel, Decoys, is due to be released in 2020. Her first book, Bonjour 40: A Paris Travel Log, garnered seven independent publishing awards. Though she is originally from Canada, Karen is now chasing histories from Richmond, VA.

Co-hosted by Fountain Bookstore.
