The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and the PNC Foundation are collaborating to provide a new, one-time grant program focusing on local history – with preference given to projects focusing on economic history – in any of the following Virginia cities and counties:
Grants will be in the range of $5,000 each. Current VFH guidelines and policies will determine eligibility, and govern both the review of proposals and the administration of grant funds. Though the timelines of funded projects may vary, grantees will be required to submit final narrative and financial reports on their projects within 30 days of the conclusion of the projects or by March 1, 2010, whichever comes first.
Collaborative projects involving multiple organizations and localities are encouraged, as are draft proposals submitted in advance of the deadline. Proposals are to be postmarked no later than February 1, 2009, with final funding decisions to be made by the VFH Board at its March meeting.
