The Botetourt County Historical Museum will debut a special exhibit beginning February 1, 2017. The exhibit, titled “What Has Been Lost,” focuses on Botetourt County’s African American Community. The exhibit includes a series of pictures, documents, and artifacts, each telling the story of the African American citizens who made Botetourt their home. Much of the information features schools and churches: important institutions that were central to daily life for most people.
This exhibition was made possible in part by a grant from Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
