The Bill of Rights, The Courts, And The Law
The Virginia Center for the Book at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities is making available free copies of the book, The Bill of Rights, The Courts & The Law.
The book offers general interest readers and scholars alike easily-accessible information and commentary on 55 landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases that have shaped American history. Commentaries on each case were written by six of the nation's foremost legal scholars, highlighting the background, major issues and implications of each decision.
"Readers of all ages and backgrounds have found it to be the best, most comprehensive introduction to the Bill of Rights for a non-scholarly audience," said David Bearinger, editor of all three editions, and Director of Grants and Public Programs at VFH.
Also available: A limited edition presentation-quality print of the Bill of Rights and its predecessor, the Virginia Declaration of Rights.
